Frank Deresti and The Lake Effect CD Release Party

Tickets are still available for Frank Deresti and The Lake Effect this Thursday at the Simcoe Street Theatre, where they will be celebrating the release of their new CD, “Hi’s and Lo’s”.  This is a band well worth catching.  Frank Deresti’s original songs are enhanced by the musicianship of his band which blends acoustic guitar, banjo, saxophone, trumpet, violin, keyboards, upright bass, drums, percussion and layers of vocal harmonies.

In this live video from Deep Fried Films (John Brownlow) you can get a quick and impressive preview of the band’s talents.

Hailing from Sault Ste. Marie, the band has been touring in support of this new release.  It was recorded locally in Duntroon, with Craig Smith at the controls.  Laura Conning, on her blog at Route 26, has provided a great in-depth interview with the band.

Promoter Steven Vipond is donating the potential profit for the show to his friend Kelly Schell’s upcoming volunteer mission to India.

The band will also be performing at CROW Bar and Variety on Friday night.
