Three Nights of Live Music at the Leeky

ef7f8253a3107841bd6b9e40fe369e55This week there will be three nights in a row with live music featured at The Leeky Canoe.  The entertainment will be timed to please music fans who have already whetted their appetites on other music events, and want to wet their whistle while continuing to enjoy live music.

Pete Devlin Thursday night

Pete Devlin Thursday night

Thursday night will feature Pete Devlin.  Those who have seen him at the Wednesday jams at Ted’s Range Road Diner, or accompanying Chris Scerri at the Tuesday night open stages at The Leeky, already know him as a guitarist whose technical ability is matched by a sensitivity and musicality that makes every solo he plays something very special.  He is also a good singer and songwriter.  With him at the Leeky, along with the possibility of surprise guests dropping in, it makes it an ideal location to carry on partying after the big Downchild concert at Meaford Hall.

Luke Martin Friday night

Luke Martin Friday night

Friday night presents singer-songwriter Luke Martin, who has already sold out his turn at Terrace Thursdays and who sometimes hosts the Sunday open stage at The Barn.  He has a resonant deep vocal style reminiscent of John Mayer and a lot of good original songs as well as covers.  His show will be the ideal place to keep enjoying the music after the big concert across the street in the Market Square ends.  It is the second in the Meaford Summer Concert Series, presented free to liven up your Friday nights.  This week it features Rob Elder and The Shed Shakers.

Amanda Dorey Saturday night

Amanda Dorey Saturday night

Saturday night’s performer is Amanda Dorey, who is quickly becoming known as a great country voice.  She has teamed up in the past with Will Matthews, The Bam-A-Lam Kid, and James McLaughlin, so she may expect some special guests this Saturday as well.  She will follow a 6 to 9 show at Captains’ Corner which will feature many of the performers who will be at the Meaford Stomp on Saturday afternoon.  It’ll be a busy day for Amanda who may be playing at all three venues, and The Leeky will be a good place to catch her wind down her Saturday.

Let’s hope this idea of night after night of local talent starts a new trend in Meaford restaurants and pubs.
