Up and coming young talent

Emma Wright

EmmapicWhen you hear someone very young sing well, it is impressive.  But when you hear someone interpret a song in a way that moves you, it doesn’t matter how old the performer is.  That’s what happens when Emma Wright sings.  She often sings at local events in her home town of Meaford and when she does, people within earshot stop and ask, “Who is that voice?”.  Now 12, she has been an impressive vocalist for several years alread.  She’s been the go-to performer for a few years now to sing the National Anthem on Canada Day.  She has competed at various competitions and most recently placed first runner up at the CNE Rising Star last year as well as 1st place at Collingwood Idol.  And, of course, she just keeps getting better.

She opened for Tyler Yarema and His Rhythm at the evening concert at Market Square on Canada Day.  Standing alone on the stage accompanied by a backing track, she enthralled the audience with the emotional strength and technical virtuosity of her vocals, singing some familiar modern country favourites.  It was the opening concert of the Meaford Summer Concert Series, each of which will open with a talented local youth.

Learn to Play Guitar or Ukelele

If he teaches half as well as he plays, students will love to learn guitar or ukelele from Jayden Grahlman, Meaford’s boy wonder, organic home grown talent.

Guitar lessons, Meaford

Learn from the best (and with Jayden, it’s bound to be fun)

He’s not only proficient technically, he has a feel for the music that makes the difference between a good guitarist and a great one.  Hopefully some of that which makes him so special will be passed along to those who study with him.  He’ll take on kids and adult students.  Call him or email before he’s completely booked!

“String up your guitars and Ukuleles. Meet my former vocal studentJayden Grahlman. I adore and respect this wonderful person. If you want to learn some guitar, and uke.. you get that, plus an awesome bro who has integrity and really really knows how to mentor string people. Go on and hit him up. HIGHLY RECOMMEND…” – Tara Mackenzie
