swampstompers-withlogoThe opening band will be The Great Canadian Swamp Stompers, promising songs about lovers, loners, loafers, truckers, trackers, toilers, farmers and fraudmen, po-lice and thieves, workin hard and hardly workin, hound dogs, wood stoves and bad bad women.

Justin is a music industry veteran, following his father and uncle in the family business.  They had toured for several years as The Feeling.  Justin grew up listening to them and before he turned four he was given his own drum kit.  After studying percussion at Western University, he formed one of several bands and hit the road.  He was in and out and in again with the 70’s band Thundermug, first as drummer and then as bass player.  With time he evolved to become a singer-songwriter and formed a band under his own name touring to promote an album of his original songs.

This new album, Heads Will Bang, bears the stamp of his many years of touring, producing and playing internationally as a sideman.  He also draws on a filmmaking background to tell stories with characters and social observations.  But in performance there’s no mistaking that he is a drummer, with songs that rock you out of your seat.

Here he is live at The River Cafe:
