Friends Of The Library Sunday Concerts

It’s a long-standing tradition for people to gather on summer Sunday nights under the roof of the Rotary Pavillion beside the Bighead River to enjoy a concert of local talent starting at 7 p.m.  There is no charge, but the Friends of The Library, who also run the Net Shed used book store right across the river, will ask you do donate what you can.  All proceeds go to support the Meaford Public Library, which mounts a wide variety of community programs all year round thanks to the support of the Friends.  Bring your own chair and enjoy a variety of talents.

June 26th – Waverly Rice, with his country band, as always, opened the series this summer.  He always fills the pavilion to capacity with old and new fans.  His repertoire and style is reminiscent of the country and western idols of the fifties, partly because he’s been playing this music that long.  His smooth vocals are a treat for fans of traditional country music.
