Plow Your Way To The Leeky Tonight For Drew and Jayden

Tonight will be a pretty special night at The Leeky Canoe when two Meaford’s best musicians share the stage for a night of music.  Both Drew McIvor and Jayden Grahlman are not only first-rate singer-songwriters but they are consummate performers.  To see them together is a treat.

Drew was scheduled to play The Leeky just a few weeks ago.  A big snowstorm blew in and the show was cancelled.  Last night he had his weekly open mic at The Bruce Wine Bar and another snowstorm closed the roads.  If the weather lets up a bit and we can get out, The Leeky Canoe is the place to be tonight.

The Knox Sessions

Jayden was at The Leeky on Monday night co-hosting with Chris Scerri.  He’s working with Kara Davison to present shows now at The Knox Church on (137190) Grey Road 12.  Last month he and Drew performed there and on the 19th of this month they are presenting Gracie.  These Knox Sessions are ticketed concert events ($35, reserved seating) where you can bring your own bottle and enjoy the catering of SoulShine Kitchens.  With talent at this calibre, these sessions are a welcome addition to the local music scene.

The Honey Brothers

With Jay Stiles, Drew and Jayden make up The Honey Brothers, a trio that came together at Drew’s Wednesday night jams at The Bruce.  The three of them set up an addictive groove with every song.  Drew has a remarkable singing voice and Jayden has an endless supply of hot guitar licks.  Each of them has the talent to carry a show on their own, and does often all over the area.  When a couple of great solo talents combine it always results in something more than the sum of its parts.  That’s what we get when Drew McIvor and Jayden Grahlman come together, a kind of mini-Meaford-super-group.

Here they are with Jay Stiles grooving on an original song.
