This Week’s Music in the Area

Jayden Grahlman will be standing in for Chris Scerri at this week’s open mic at The Leeky Canoe.  Chris is taking the night off to go to Toronto to (what else?) see a band.  Jayden has often co-hosted with Chris and he takes turns hosting an open mic at The Barn.  He is always willing to add great guitar work to a player who wants him to.  You can also catch him in performance later this week at The Huron Club in Collingwood.  Later in the week, The Leeky will be bringing us Johnny X on Thursday and Sean Pinchin on Saturday.

Starting at 7 pm on Tuesday evening at The Marsh Street Centre is the Georgian Shores Songwriters’ Circle, a chance for songwriters to exchange songs, ideas and encouragement.  They are saying that after firing each other up with mutual admiration they may migrate over to the Leeky afterward to join the open stage night.

Captains Corner, in addition to Amanda’s jam on Wednesdays, which is growing in popularity, will feature Doug and Heather Brown on Friday.

The Huron Club in Collingwood, in addition to Jayden Grahlman on Thursday, features Dave Russell on Wednesday, the night before he hosts his own open stage at The Corner Café in Thornbury.  On Friday, the Huron Club brings in country singer Karla Crawford and on Saturday the itinerant husband and wife team Winnie Brave bring their Americana music to the area.
